P.L.P. (PEACE, LOVE, PURITY)

Looking for something we don't have, every woman and man
Looking something in the sands as it sifts through the hands
A knowledge to understand walk as humans in this land

P.L.P. what we dream what we strive to be
What I see in you I hope you see in me
A deep feeling we all need to feel free

Hope for justices a victim soul within our hearts we will hold
Giving up is not giving in when pictures can be seen within
Good trouble is the call today as we continue to pray

P.L.P. what comes from the heart to the eyes should never be a lie
Not an activity; it is feeling experiencing the giving without receiving
It is something deep that we are needing

An emotion used as a lie just for a momentary feeling
A word used and abused for a momentary lie
Look deep inside connect with the eyes; this is true life.

P.L.P. what we look for is a clean slate removing that self-hate
Steady the mind invasion a white page floating in an ocean is your stage
A point of light in you shining bright; it is the life that is always new

The white sari transforming the sister into an instrument hear her sing.
The tune of the flute flowing through me, and you
Feel the knowledge it has the directions to what to do

Peace is the dream we strive to be
Love is an emotion of giving without receiving
Purity is starting over; it is what is inside of you.

DALITS

What is it in me that makes your perception of me
Why is including me just a means of excluding me
Is it I am not worthy of God's kiss because of this?

*Dalits is how I feel buried under these feeling
I dream of peace, love, and purity
But no one sees that in me

The list of my faults are long
I check the long list to try to change them all
But it is you that I wronged as my list goes on

Dalits is how I feel buried in the silence of unforgiven
But asking forgiveness is just a sin
But this is how I know my place just to fit in

No matter where I place my shoes, no matter where I sit
I look inside for my own forgiveness, but how do I do this
When anyone sees my struggles, they are pushed back on me

Dalits is how I feel buried under the sweepings of leftover life.
Living in the night always wrong, never right
Proudly claiming the last place inline

No matter what I do, it is never good enough
When done with so much care and love
Alone I hear the father's wisdom as the forgotten son.

Dalits is how I feel buried under blocks of guilt.
Used to build a wall of silence shut off from the guidance
The respect I give the respect I receive is like tasteless *sabjiyaan

HOW DO YOU CRY

In the light of day, there should be no shadows, no douts
Is that what respect for life is all about

How do you cry when there is no time for life?
How do you cry when hate is all you can find?
How do you forgive every time?

With marching feet, the calls for justice and peace
These sounds still echo from the streets
Will the next tear to be shed will be for you or for me?

How do you cry when life is just a short time?
How do you cry when a lie is revealed as hate?
How do you forgive next time?

Serve and protect until the next death
Mistakes and excuses do not make you innocent
Justice and peace are political vinegar and oil

How do you cry when this happens every time?
How do you cry when the tears run dry?
How do you forgive this time?

Tears spilled on the streets of Minneapolis.
No one should die for a light to be put on racial justice
Living and dying has no longer has any purpose

How do you cry when you have no tears?
How do you cry when you walk with fear?
How do you cry right NOW?

THE HILL WE CLIMB (Inspired by the poem of Amanda Gorman)

Out from under the shadow of a never-ending ego
The light of respect in the distance can be seen
The voice of optimism is no longer a dream
Hear the echoing sounds on the streets
Passionate words of justice and peace

The hill we climb over all obstacles and lies.
The journey is long, but on the other side, we will see the dawn.

A nation is broken into pieces with unresolved emotions.
We strive to fulfill the immigrant's dream.
To see their children grow up to be free and one day lead.
Through a child's voice, ancient ancestors sing.
Songs of amazing grace as every voice will ring.

The hill we climb to a destination of new life.
A celebration of all our difference, we will find

We grow out of remembrance when tragedy makes no sense.
The pain we feel in this moment, the cure is in the journey up this hill.
As we strive for that glimmer of hope, we discover what we have always known.
With a passion for peace, this division we will defeat to one day see
America is a comforting home; it is my home; it is your home that everyone should know.

The hill we climb to find the promised land on the other side.
What was once the words of a dream is now the reality.

In Malcolm, we found an example of passion through all means.
In Marten, we found the dream of peace.
In John, we found the good trouble that will lead.
In Harriet, we found an appreciation of what it is like to be free.
Together we have found the determination we need.

The hill we climb above a land one day will shine.
Bring light to all diverse faces as we become one nation.

The fire of passion today is quenched by the satisfying waters of tomorrow.
With courage unafraid, we will defeat all this sorrow.
We must believe in this; we must believe us; we must find the trust.
Together we must have the courage to be it.

MORNING CONVERSATIONS

I sit down in my own peace
Focused on a light that only I can see
Because it is what is inside of me

Morning conversations as the sunrise
With peace, love, and purity is what I find.
On my own path, walk past all life's lies.

I sit down in my own love.
Focused on its inclusion, looking past all illusions
A dream for everyone to be free

Morning conversations as the sunrise
With peace, love, and purity in my mind
From you, there is nothing I hide

I sit down in my own purity.
Focused on what makes me truly me
That is an eternal soul.

Morning conversations as the sunrise
With peace, love, and purity becomes only light.
On the alter tokens of moments and photos of loved ones who pass

I sit down in my own silence.
Focused on divine one from above
Forgetting titles and external fights

NEW CONNECTION

Illusions of the world are revealed.
Feeling are the facts that feed lies.
This pain will never heal.

New connections to who we are
Removing barriers that hold back the soul
A ritual, a cross, stain glass images

The ego hides all the lies.
As we try to move forward still, we are left behind.
There is a true direction to the power inside.

New connections to who you are
Removing deceiving tradition that holds back the soul
The bread of the body, the juice of the blood

The blessings bestowed on me are the accomplishments I achieve
Life is not made up of mystical mysteries; it is what I find in me.
Only you control the relationship with the one.

New connection to who I am
Removing people and thing that I never need
A celebrity, a car, or a big house

Chanting your mantra selfishly will not make you free.
Counting the beads will not bring peace.
Remembrance of the one in purity and love is where it will come from

MINT TEA

The sun goes down; the night has come
Wondering where will my sleep come from
It won't be from bedtime stories or a loving kiss on the forehead.

Mint tea warm with a scent like a dream.
A resting mind fresh and free

The moon comes up; a cool breeze dance above the trees
They are the audience feeling it every move
A kind of confidence I wish I could have too

Mint tea warm with a scent of peace.
Refreshing sip for you and me

The stars are there all the time; slowdown experience life
The ceramic cup warming the hands
Just the same for every man

Mint tea warm with a scent of purity
A moment of rest is what this world needs

WHEN HARRY SINGS

Deep meaning entraining the feelings
Words to a story it is much more than dreaming.
Hear the calypso sound much more than singing

When Harry sings
Everyone dancing, swaying their hips
When the music stops, we are left smiling.

The rhythmic claps as feet move to that.
Not separated by race only by time and space
His music has what we need to see.....

When Harry sings
Everyone moving to the rhythm of peace
Much more than a musical dream

A legacy of sound sing before the crowds
Not intimidated by anyone's thoughts.
It is love that defines art.

HERITAGE

Life is passing you by when you don't see what is right
Living a lie as you live in the night
What is it your trying to find living in the past

Your heritage
Locks you in a museum of intimidation and hate
What you celebrate is a waste of a day.

Life has so much to experience you don't want to miss this.
There is no threat in peace when together we resist
A legacy of giving will last.

My heritage
Is the exclusion of hate and inclusion of love
From the mind and heart is where it comes from

Life is learning and living forever; it is about giving.
Where is your morality? Giving it away doesn't make you free.
No control over your mind; your just a political zombie

Our heritage
Is understanding one another living as sister and brothers
Drink from the cup of life knows the difference between wrong and right.

Life is much more than a competition to get much more.
Your experience is not mine; my experience is not yours.
It is about you, the soul, the time that you hold as you grow old.

WE HIDE

Hunger hides in the schools

Hunger hides in the uneducated

Hunger hides in a child's mind

Why should this be a political fight?

We are not asking for a feast, just a little something to eat.

Sadness hides in the home

Sadness hides in the room

Sadness hides in the man on the streets

Don't want to run in your circle anymore.

Want to take that straight line leave it all behind

Pain hides in the head

Pain hides in the lie

Pain hides in the woman's box

Change your name change your life game.

Want to remove this pain just to replace it with a different kind of pain

Ignorance hides in the tip of a pen

Ignorance hides in the words of a little girl

Ignorance hides in the toothless follower

Red hat, red mask dyed with the blood of the virus of millions

Showing off how privilege you can be when it is only attention you need

Love hides behind newborn eyes.

Love hides in giving without a witness.

Love hides in a kiss unconditional.

More than a touch more than activity

Life, designed to be free

Hope hides in a morel decision

Hope hides in the silences before the dawn

Hope hides in the gift shop of the Obama Center

The last few dollars on a losing lotto ticket

Has more hope than what a preacher asks for in faith

Peace hides within the mind; the questions of life are inside.

Peace hides in the silence of nature

Peace hides in the forgiveness of oneself

The things we search for we hide

The meaning to these feelings we hide

All that we hide has become a part of life.

DIWALI

Never seen the night so bright
Even inside when feeling soul the light
This is the time to change from wrong to right

Where is the party when it is Diwali
Music and dancing when it is Diwali
Celebrating a new day when it is Diwali

From the temple to home knowledge in the light is what we all know
I am soul, you are soul, intellectual cleaning will make us free
Remove all the webs and dust know that it is the love we can trust

So much food when it is Diwali
Light triumphs of the night when it is Diwali
Celebrating a new life when it is Diwali

Goddess Lakshmi comes and dances with me
She got all the wealth and prosperity it is much more than charity
Clearing the way for respect and dignity

Light the lamps when it is Diwali
Felling the peaceful mood when it is Diwali
Celebrating a new me when it is Diwali

HONEY DRIPS

Need something sweet, something to eat
Dreaming of the taste is just a waste
Inaction is a craving that sometimes goes away

Honey drips from your lips.
Passion in the words you use nothing to prove
Nourishment isn't just in the food; it is what is inside of you.

Need something sweet, something like peace
Dreaming of togetherness and what we can achieve
Fear is just a distraction from the truth

Honey drips from his lips.
With passion in his voice, there is no other choice
Words of compassion, words with feeling, understanding the meaning

Need something sweet, something to hear
Dreaming of Marvin's words *"For only love can conquer hate."
We must march the path that they paved.

Honey drips from her lips.
Her breath through the flute knowledge is the tune
Million tears left at the fence mixed with the mace of ignorance

Need something sweet like freedom
Four hundred years of forgetting is coming to an end
Our ancestors might not have been friends, but together we can win

GOOD PEACE

Good peace its what we all dream
Never to be out of reach
Should never be too far to see

Why you need all the attention
When a family lives in desperation
Fame alone will never pay the bills

Good peace it should be the reality
Never to be a footnote in history
A man should never have to take a knee

Why we treated different ways
When I stood in line right behind you
I am no better I have nothing to prove

Good peace it should be more than a feeling
Never to be an idea of an educated mind
When we hear our leaders lie another child dies

Why you need to be rich
When the poor only dreams of it
Living a lie when you have to pay someone to be by your side

Good peace is more than thoughts and prayers
Should be service without a care
The proof shouldn't be recorded on your phone

Why not live in purity
You'll have so much dignity
*Loving your self till everyone else does too

Good peace should be more than a thought
Good peace should come from the heart
Good peace should start from right where you are

PROMISED LOVE

In the fog is a lonely place to be
When the sun comes out it will warm you and me
Above the trees out in the sky, there is more we need

Promised love
Come down from above
Promised love
Might feel like it comes and goes
It is unconditionally apart of the soul

Romance is just a selfish act of man
There is so much more than a touch of a hand
When things get hot can't cool things with a fan

Promised love
Everywhere for every one
Promised love
Let it shine from the eyes it will not lie
With purity no way it will ever hide

Like a song from the heart, it is strong
Moving us from this feeling of pride, it just feels so right
It is not a possession that the ego controls there is so much more

Promised love
Some times it is taken advantage of
Promised love
A word that sweetens the air
From the eye removing the sad salt from every tear

Feel the word roll off the tongue pass the lips
Let everyone hear it with the feeling of bliss
More than a hug more than a kiss say the word it's love

Promised love
A phrase from the knowledge page
Promised love
Words mused by the purple omens
Listen to this love note

CALL OF THE TIME

Wondering why, what is it I don't know
Living in this war of the souls
Regret in my mind all a wasted time

A message of knowledge from the light
No more night while living this life
Hear the call of the time

Fortune of man comes and go when connected with the ego
Without the service of the mind, it is wasted dust to the side
Claiming attention dose nothing for the soul

A message of knowledge from the light
No more night while living this life
Hear the call of the time

A contradiction of messages just for the attention
Corona the cats have nine lives,  pushing all the truth to the side
This all you will be known for it does nothing for anyone's soul

A message of knowledge from the light
No more night while living this life
Hear the call of the time

*A great negative force is reaching its peak...
It is very easy to become confused and even frightened
A positive turning towards peace is what we all need.

DEAR SISTER (For Hansa)

The experience you just had
Has more value than any wealthy man

Dear Sister
Love is found in one tear from your eye
Your service to the one will never be done
A smile from your eye is bright as the sun

The story continues in you and all that you do
Sadness is for a short time but love is for a lifetime

Dear Sister
Surrendered to love now you know where it comes from
Living it unconditionally what more could you ever need
The only way to be free is peace, love, and purity

As a yogi child, there is much more than what is in the eyes
Love is the binding aspect of peace and it is what we need

Dear Sister
The drama has the mind in a knot the knowledge will bring back the light
Got to be a soul just to take hold of all the joy
Look in a clean mirror to see how this was never a dream

Knowing the world has changed happiness is what you have to give today
*You are apart of the never-ending story

THE ALCHEMY OF PEACE

There is a scientific equation to peace
Like global warming, it is what our leaders can't see

The alchemy of peace
Is one part you and another part me
Living in harmony

It is not a mixture of exploding things
It is the respect for life and all that it means

The alchemy of peace
Is the extraction of all impurities
Like war and inequality

There is no potion no magical elixir
It is learning from the past and being a forgiver

The alchemy of peace
Is the reaction of a dream to be free
In the incubator of the mind the only place it can be seen

PANCAKES AND GHEE

There are two venomous words that came out of the 20th century.
One of these words for some people has been carved down to an acronym no matter the context it rarely used. Others use it as a term of enduement in the hope to remove its venom. No matter the context it still maintains its sting.

The other one became lost in litterateur.
In the early years of the 20th century, this word back then had the same sting and venom contained in it as the N-word does today. Not much isn’t said of it today like much of many stains of history we are embarrassment by, so we push it out of the way, and turn our backs. Instead of facing it and use it to learn from the mistakes of our ancestors and strive to accomplish true peace in our world.

This word came innocently enough from a children’s book called Little Black Sambo in what I researched it wasn’t intended to be published at all.
It was written by Helen Bannerman in the mid-1890s. She wrought it for her kids to entertain them on there long journeys across India where they lived with her husband William who worked at the India Medical Services in Sothern India. She showed it to a friend and that person took to back to London and had it published.

Langston Hughes the inspiration for this Busboys and Poets said I paraphrase, that it is a children’s story to teach white children to make fun of black children. But the original story has nothing racist about.
Here I tell you a quick summary of the story.

Sambo was a little boy whose parents got him an outfit that he was proud of. It was a red shirt, blue pants with blue shoes and a green umbrella. So, he went for a walk to show it off and along the way, he was threatened by four different tigers each one threatening to eat him alive if he does not give them something.  He gave each tiger a part of his outfit one with the pants another with the shirt. But the other two could not figure out about the shoes and the umbrella. The one with the shoes wore on its ears and the one with the umbrella carried it with its tale. When the tigers saw each other that stared to argue who looked the best. Then they started to fight and dropped what each of them had they fought so hard they turned into ghee (clarified butter). So, Sambo gathered up is outfit and him and his dad collected the ghee and took it home and his mother maid pancakes.

Nothing remotely racist the only one who should be offended by this is Tigers.

It wasn’t until it came to America and was manipulated into a racial slur. But that is not what I want to talk about. I want to talk about the true origins of the name.

The origins of it come from the Hindi language and it is pronounced SHAMBO and in one of the other many languages of India Telugu, it is pronounced SAMBO.

They say in India Shiv Shambho which means Great God, the auspicious one.

PANCAKES AND GHEE

Sambo bullied by controversy
His name appropriated by a culture to destroy history
To shame our ancestor's genealogy
Why use a child's name to create shame

Pancakes and ghee
About to have breakfast with Bhenji
Free to be everything even family

Sambo bullied by history
Another culter steels his story
Blamed for the generations pain
His story never told the same way again

Pancakes and ghee
About to have breakfast with Bhaeeji
Free to be everything even community

Sambo bullied by society
So offended they grabbed pancakes for the mouths of children
Now this is where education ends and ignorance begins
Hate starts to spreads, even between friends

Pancakes and ghee
About to have breakfast with Mataji
She is so much wiser than me

Sambo bullied by a stereotype
Worked so hard for the things he liked
A green umbrella, red shirt, blue pants with shoes to match
All the way home he would dance

Pancakes and ghee
About to have breakfast with Dadaji
Knowing the inner strength is the way to be free

Sambo bullied from the left and right
Four tigers with black and orange strips come out to fight
He gave them all he had so he could hide
So they had a parade to show who is most fashionable

Pancakes and ghee
About to have breakfast with khaas dost
Sharing is what life is all about

Sambo bullied by the things he felt
The Tigers fight over their own pride
As everyone fooled by their own lies
No longer is freedom yours or mine

Pancakes and ghee
About to have breakfast with me
So many pancakes I only have three

Sambo no longer bullied by life
Turn off the outside to see the inner light
No material things can take the place of peace, love, and purity
Freedom should never be a dream

ORIGINAL SOUL

Many years and many miles
Traveling with the scares of life
Just to find a home of flesh and bone

A light of peace and purity
It's intentional essence you can feel
As it passes from one to another
Feel the original soul

Flying higher than a million doves
Its true service is the spreading of true love
From shore to shore from the hights to down low
It is for everybody to know

A light of kindness and forgiveness
It does not exclude me or you
It isn't something you can hold only karma can control
Be an original soul

My personal rapture is my path to the light
Kindness is my religion no need for complicated traditions
It is my who suffocated my dreams, It is me that wone five dollars in the lottery
Nothing mystical floating over me, my mind wanders free

A light inside of me pure energy
The passage of time it holds more precious than silver and gold
The origins of peace and love freedom in the sun
I am an original soul

CANVAS BAG

What have you seen is not for my eyes
Just an excuse for peace to turn out to be a lie
You were not alive but you hold the memories inside
Taken along for the change of lives

Canvas bag
Woven in you is the pain of history
Canvas bag
Mud or sand carried to many lands
Canvas bag
A companion no one understands

Learning to forget but desiring to remember
As the mind navigating the rapids of a river
Celebrated and degraded in the same breath
Memorialized the living death

Canvas bag
Woven threads now called home
Canvas bag
No hero's welcome only to be left alone
Canvas bag
Promises made to one day forget

Everything is forgotten in you
Filled with political promises never to come true
Carried on the back of an innocent man
Wondering what is the master plan

Canvas bag
Woven survivor faded green the nightmares you have seen
Canvas bag
Forgotten in a closet but your memories in the minds of lost lives
Canvas bag
Your journey is filled with unanswered questions why but defined as freedom
