LOST MY INSPIRATION

Lost my inspiration
She up and walked away
must try to make it to another day
No more passion
Didn't even have it
It's just a distraction

Lost my hope
Can't find it with a rope
Being alive is worth the hope
Lost my inspiration
Pain and devastation
Pray the pain will go away
Lord take it away

Greed has the man
Taking what he can't have
Making the world so sad…
sometimes mad

Open your mind It's in front of your eyes
Man is so unkind
Wrong or right, it's life
Lost my inspiration
She is too far away for me to see

Love is now a dream

THE DOG ON THE COUCH

The dog glares at me

As he lays there
Curled up at one end of the couch
We stare at each other
Sitting there with his icy glare
He doesn't move
Curled in his corner
He has nothing to prove
When I bring a visitor over
He acts like a puppy
But when my visitor leaves
He turns and growls at me than goes back on to the couch
And starts to glare again

That dog has vengeance towards me

I know he doesn't like me

But when he is needy

He will beg in front of me

With his sad puppy eyes

I don't understand that dog

TO PICTURE ALICE WALKER

As I look at her picture
From the back of one of her books
I see beauty in her face
I see the strength of a proud race
Her smile glows with inspiration
I capture it in words to put it to paper
through the shape of her head
I know there is allot of wisdom in there
In the creativity of her hair
There is allot of joy there
She says there is a flaw in her eye
Its' something I can't see
When it hides behind her beauty
As I look at her, I feel a desire

To touch her beauty

But than I realize that it is only a picture

With her words and her wisdom

At night I will dream of Alice Walker
